Cases turn on testimony.
Truss is the practice deposition: a live AI examiner, the real questions, before the record is running.
Built by people who grew up around trial lawyers.
Max and Asher grew up in a family of trial lawyers.
Their father's firm, Feldman & Feldman in Houston, has taken hundreds of cases to trial. The lesson at home was that a case is won or lost on what a witness says under examination, and on how they say it.
Preparing a witness takes an attorney's afternoons. A case never has enough of those.
A prep session is a conference room, a partner, and a few hours. The witness is told what to expect. Then they walk into the deposition never having felt it: never pressed on a hedge, never asked the same question a third time, never handed their own email and told to explain it.
So we built the examiner.
Truss puts the witness through a realistic simulation of the deposition, from a private link, on their own time, as many rounds as they need. The attorney directs the examination and gets the record: a recording, and a report on where the witness held and where they gave ground.
It drills composure, never content.
The examiner presses the way opposing counsel will. What the witness says is theirs and their attorney's; Truss reports on how they said it.
Three of us, from UT Austin.
Max Feldman
Co-founder
Mathematician and software engineer. Mathematics and computer science at UT Austin, with an honors thesis on optimal stopping: how to act on a system that evolves randomly and won't say what it does next.
Nathan Barry
Co-founder and CTO
Systems and machine learning. B.S. in computer science and mathematics and M.S. in computer science from UT Austin, on inference for diffusion language models. Before Truss, a research engineer at Zed and a machine learning intern at Apple.
Asher Feldman
Co-founder
Turing Scholar at UT Austin in computer science and mathematics. Worked on automated theorem proving in the UToPiA Lab, teaching LLM-based provers to retrieve the right Lean 4 tactics with reinforcement learning.
